moodporn
"...a peek behind the curtain of deep human psyche.... Loveranes’ script is so often brilliant."
Simon Sweetman, Off The Tracks
Atlas and Jane are long lost friends from uni. It’s been some years since they last saw each other and each are percolating some long-harboured secrets and passions. Seeing each other again seems to trigger an outflowing of emotion, some of it unwanted, and what comes out isn’t always pretty. MoodPorn is a melodrama about guilt, unsaid feelings and learning to live with your shit.

"We have a new and exciting playwright on the proverbial block and this James Cain-directed Red Scare Theatre Company ‘chamber piece’, performed by Heather O’Carroll and Ali Foa’i, does Matthew Loveranes proud.... a thrilling debut." - John Smythe, Theatreview
"It’s hard not to be blown away by MoodPorn as it moves purposefully towards its rather confronting conclusion. To all involved – the set and lighting, direction, writing and actors – a most generous bouquet." - Simon Sweetman, Off The Tracks "Together [Foa'i and O'Carroll] are captivating and their trust in one another on stage is evident and instantly draws you into their friendship, grief and story. It’s not hard to see Cain’s fingerprint on this as he navigates through the layered script with ease, making even the smallest glance, touch and expression shine in equal parts to Loveranes’ dialogue." - Dionysus Reviews |
